The framework

Every technique belongs
to one of three principles.

Simple Selling is not a script and not a personality. It is a framework: three principles that decide what you do, and in what order, in any conversation worth $5k to $100k.

PRINCIPLE I

Trust

Be a mentor, not a closer. Put the guarantee in writing. Reveal your cards first. Sell the pain before the product. Listen 52% of the time. Ask three or four questions, never more than five.

"When once a salesman has established such relations that the merchant believes in him, almost any suggestion will be accepted as a good one."H.J. Heinz, 1898
PRINCIPLE II

Play

Four steps, never more. Clarity beats detail. Make your time scarce, batch the meetings, carry three proof names. Preparation is the default state; selling is the performance.

"A bored buyer never buys."David Hoffeld, 2016
PRINCIPLE III

Meaning

Value rises with the meaning they give it. Answer every objection with a question. Negotiate without needing it. When they get cold feet, use loss, not gain.

"Man: a being in search of meaning."Abraham Joshua Heschel, 1954
The first lawA confused prospect never buys. If it feels complex, simplify.
The second lawTrust is built by sharing loss, not by promising gain.
The third lawMeaning drives value. Ask what this means to them personally.
The framework in a meeting

Six phases, forty-four checks

The principles turn into a sequence you can run live. Each phase has one job, and the whole thing fits on a single screen while you are on the call.

1Before the meetingResearch, the likely pain, your anchor, three proof names, the written guarantee.8 checks
2First 5 minutesConfirm the end time, share the four steps, reveal your cards, ask permission.4 checks
3DiscoveryWhat are you looking for. How do you mean. Then silence, and let them fill it.8 checks
4Present and positionConnect to the pain in their words, drop the anchor, hand over the guarantee.7 checks
5CloseObjections get a question. Price gets a grimace and slight movement. One next step.6 checks
6After the meetingFollow up within the hour, reflect, log it, and prepare the next one.5 checks
The trainer

The framework, taught one idea at a time

An interactive program a salesperson works through alone. Fifteen short sessions of about five minutes each, then two tools they keep using after.

Where the framework comes fromA three-minute history: Franklin selling poems, Twain marketing Huck Finn, the Knights of the Grip, and why none of this is new.
Fifteen ideas, three principlesTrust, play and meaning unlock in order. One idea per screen, never a wall of text.
Say it out loud, then practiceReal prospect lines to answer, the six questions to sequence, the words to reframe.
Notes they write themselvesTheir own anchor, guarantee, opening story and proof names, ready before every meeting.
The 44-item checklistThe framework as a live sequence, one phase at a time, from research through follow-up.
Every claim sourcedDale Carnegie, Salesforce, Gartner, Chorus.ai, Kahneman. Each number names its study.
Where it came from

Built from deals,
not theory

The framework came out of sales that the author closed himself, or sellers he trained himself, and then also from studying a century of sales literature.

Sold everything from cornfields in rural farm towns to startup technology in Fortune 100 boardrooms. Trained at Brian Tracy bootcamps and the Andreessen Horowitz sales bootcamp, mentored by leaders who have generated billions in sales.

Leads Email Outreach Company, a cold email company that has generated more than 10,000 sales appointments for its clients. Through the sales framework, and cold emailing, he has landed clients including Apple, Goldman Sachs, and Bank of America.

Selling is not manipulation. You are not a swindler, a trickster, or a con artist. Your foremost role is mentor to your buyers, a counselor who points out directions for enjoyment of life.
